Focus on Density

Tycrid likes to differentiate large scale cluster systems from the dense computing systems that have more in common with workstations. Deep computing requires a cluster to act in unison as one system and focus on major problems that require a deep level of computing. These systems are for serious science and mathematics.

If we are to sequence a human for $1000 then it will be a deep computer that matches that data to a population. If you want to iterate a fluids model so that your solution matches reality, then you will need deep computing capacity. If genetic programming and self evolving software are to truly become mainstream, then the GPU based deep computing solution is the only economic solution.

To build a PetaFLOP system with normal CPU based systems would cost over $90 million, and require an estimated 340 (42u) racks in real-estate, before cooling and additional power distribution requirements. That system would use approximately 7.5 Megawatts Just to power it up, and an equally staggering amount of electricity to keep it cool. This would cost you over $10 million just to turn on.

Tycrid can provide 1 PetaFLOP of dense computing power at one fifth (1/5) the cost and save over $8 million per year in electrical power costs. Today the cost of one PetaFLOP (10^15 floating point calculations per second) will cost under $25 million.

The days of deep computing have arrived imagine 100 Tera Flops for under $2 millon. Can companies remain competitive without the power of deep computing? Let Tycrid and the Tesla GPU unleash the competitive edge for your corporation or organization.
